Awake runs first Driver Tiredness workshop in Africa

On 22nd-23rd September AWAKE ran the first driver tiredness workshop for Shell and its contractors in Africa. Delegates from each of the four Shell Africa regions met at the Windsor Golf and Country Club in Nairobi, Kenya for the 2-day workshop. Delegates came from Tunisia, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Togo and Guinea for the event.

The workshop highlighted the scale of the problems faced by transport operators in Africa, with as many as 60% of all accidents being attributed to driver tiredness.
