Awake launches new version of the Driver Reviver

A new edition of the Driver Reviver, the CD that helps tired drivers get a 15-minute power nap, has been released by AWAKE, the sleep and fatigue research organisation linked to the Loughborough Sleep Research Centre.

The AWAKE managing director has said "The response to the Driver Reviver has been remarkable - companies have been ordering 100s at a time for their fleets of company car drivers.

"Although the Driver Reviver was originally intended for use in the car, when we surveyed our customers we found that a large proportion were also using it in other situations.

"They found the pink noise so relaxing that they wanted to be able to play it for much longer - we even had one customer who wanted to play it all night to block out the noise of passing lorries outside his bedroom window.

"The new version of the CD enables the listener to put the pink noise on repeat, so it will play for as long as you like. We have also worked with a leading sound engineer to make the pink noise even more relaxing.

"Although he was more used to working with rock bands his experience was invaluable in creating the perfect version of pink noise to maximise its relaxing properties. He joked that if we sold a few more copies the Driver Reviver could be the Christmas Number 1!"

The Driver Reviver was scientifically researched and developed by AWAKE and the Loughborough Sleep Research Centre, to help drivers get a 15-minute power nap. Research by LSRC for the Department for Transport has demonstrated that this is the most effective short term countermeasure to driver tiredness.
